Dear Resident, Earlier this week, officers from Wakefield Central NPT West carried out a street survey on Lawefield Lane, Thornes, where they spoke with a number of residents about issues which are affecting them in the local area. One of the main concerns raised was speeding and anti-social behaviour in Thornes Park, in particular nuisance bikes. To address these issues, the team have carried out some speed checks using the pro-laser speed gun, and they will be doing some more enforceable speed operations in the near future. NPT officers will also be working with the Wakefield District Off-Road Bike team in a joint operation targeting the nuisance bikes in Thornes Park and local area.
